bang on, I remember on pinkbike when this fella 'weeze' first started making these, he was at college or something and made one for a project, since then its all carbon fibre and bling, I ended up deleting the user from my list as I got fed up of incessant marketing spam updates... the design very clearly lacks knowledge of whats required, the top guide plates are only pinched together by two bolts leaving plenty of room for flex in the plates allowing the chain to come off as well as the lower pulley being mounted miles away for no apparent reason... - it doesn't take much to get some sheet cbfr and mill it to shape, but its not intended for structural use, normally just for aesthetics like car interiors and stuff, its not directionally strong in any one way, hence the warping... good to see pb slate a product when its bad, its reassured me in the rest of their reviews now! oh and the lack of captive hardware is a terrible idea, it would be impossible to fit on some frames!

thankyou 'theminsta' - I have an engineering degree but don't use it often I just have a small grasp on the basics, lol - that was my thought on the matter - if the can doesn't heat up its better, heat will hopefully conduct elsewhere and not around the air volume...

it absorbs less heat than alloy i think

ktm's ARE notoriously unreliable, but they are still liked by many - And JRoe, I have been a small engine mechanic for a long time, mixing 2 stroke fuel to the right level isn't very hard lol - and yes 2 strokes are considered more unreliable but this is mainly due to people only being familiar with 4 stroke engines, I get told by car and diesel mechanics all the time that 2 strokes are easy to work on but time and time again they prove they know very little about how to properly work with and diagnose 2 stroke engines, in fact very few people specialise with 2 strokes, hence the bad rep they have - they also produce more power than a 4 stroke due to there being twice as many ignition cycles for the rpm, and they can easily be designed to be used upside down unlike 4 strokes, hence why they are used in handheld equipment... the 2 stroke principle just doesn't work so well for bigger engines and generally lacks low rpm power compared to 4 strokes - hence why they aren't as popular overall

I vote tubes, so many of the professional downhill teams still use tubes, even the Athertons, find a good setup you don't get pinch flats with and stick with it!

all the gear no idea.... you'll get lots of flats at that pressure, but you should already know that!

have to agree with the Canuks on this one, I regularly see photo's on pb which jump out at me far more and feature more 'riding', I think I have better pics in my fav's list... only Bryce Piwek's photo really gets my vote simply because its 'artsy', but definately by no means anything original or captivating, some of the other pics chosen are shockers! :-/

lol I love how wuzupjosh gets neg' propped when he's actually right, don't buy the marketing people! - and stiffness is a separate quality to strength and in no way necessarily proportionate but is a benefit of carbon, stiffness generally makes stuff weaker in fact!
